It seemed time to create a three dimensional version of my popular Martian Tripod prints.

I would love to create bronzes of them, but for the time being, I decided to come up with a budget version.

A quick search online threw up a wonderful little piece of software called Pepakura Designer which allows you to build a 3d model in your favourite software, then convert it into a net for a paper model kit.

This is the prototype and is perhaps a little too complicated for the average Joe, due to the curvy legs and numerous tiny glue tabs.

I am currently working on a simplified version which I will release for sale or perhaps even as a free, printable download.
