Not someone who bangs on endlessly about the Mallard or Richard Trevithick’s “Puffing Devil”, but rather an invention by Amaryn’s father (a character from my Cloud Top Archipelago project).
Amaryn’s father doesn’t approach design in the same way as us modern types. For him, form does not necessarily follow function. Each contraption is as much art as it is functional design and he would rather invent a machine which delights as it performs its duties.
So where others would build a traction engine for their farmer client, he will build a steam-powered wild boar!
